Thank you for your quick response!!I too have done some research on the MUSSELMAN/SCHMALING families. At the National Archives, Regional offices near me I found this....
1840 CensusLancaster Co. Pa. E. Hempfield Twp.
David Mufselman Pg. 105
Males5 & under 102 (could be Benjamin & ?)
15 & under 201 (Samuel)
40 to under 501 (David, age approx. 50)
Females under 51 (Mary)
5 & under 101 (Susan)
15 & under 202 (Catherine & Elizabeth)
20 & under 301 (Susan/Susannah Schmaling)
Next, on the 1850 census for same township etc. I can't find the widow, Susannah, anywhere!!But I did find this...
Susan Musselman age 17 F. Pa. living with a Isaac(?)Steward (?)age 38 who is listed as a Laborer.
I also found....
1850 W. Hempfield Twp. Lancaster Co. pg 176
Adam Dombach39 M Farmer Pa
Catherine32 F wifePa
John13 M sonPa
Mary Musselman 10 FPa
So, maybe these two could be the children of David and Susannah? But what happened to Susannah?
