Adele Schmelzer was my great grand mother who emigrated to Aberdeen in Scotland and married Eduard Karl Hugo Krueger, a teacher of German and French, in 1867. She was born about 1843. The Scottish Census of 1871 gives here place of birth as Austria. She was a pianist who was taught by Clara Schumann's father, Frederick Wieck in Liepzig. Her mother was Auguste Schmelzer nee Reichenow, who married again becoming Forester. She was a concert pianist and called herself Auguste Schmelzer-Forester. She toured Europe about 1860. Her father was Johann Schmelzer, described as a theatre manager or inspector.
