I am seeking more information about my Priebe, Baller and Griep ancestors who resided in the Karlino or Korlin, Redino or Redlin, Roscino or Rostin and Lubiechowo or Lubchow in the Belgard area of Pommern prior to their immigrated to Wisconsin than to Iowa, USA in 1881. When they first came to Milwaukee they stayed with Schneider family who were relatives. I would like more information about those relatives but only know their last name. My great grandfather Friedrich Carl Julius Priebe was born Oct 4, 1828 and married Wilhelmine Christine Sophie Baller May 18, 1855. Their marriage was listed in the Belgard Pommern, Preussen records. It indicated that Friedrich who in the US used the name Julius Priebe, a tailor, lived at Luchow and his bride Wilhelmine lived in Rostin. Her parents were listed as Gottfried Erdmann Baller and Marie Griep. The marriage record does not list the names of his parents. He also had a sister Fredericka who also immigrated to Iowa, USA in about 1874 with her daughter Bertha Priebe born November 30, 1849.
Friedrich Carl Julius Priebe and his wife had the following children who also immigrated to the USA: Friedericka born Jan 11, 1857, Charles Born Jan 25, 1859, Henrietta born February 4, 1861, Wilhelmina born September 13, 1864, Julius Jr born Sept 13, 1867, Amelia born February 2, 1870, Herman born April 7, 1872, Augusta born July 20, 1874 and Bertha born May 10, 1876. They also had several children who died prior to their immigration to the USA. Their son Charles and daughter Wilhelmina immigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA in about 1878. They had relatives in Milwaukee named Schneider. The daughter Wilhelmina married a George Born born June 16, 1860 on March 31, 1885 in Milwaukee.
