Hi! Thanks for answering. The most I know is that my great-grandfather, Carl Joseph Schrick, immigrated from Germany about 1872. My aunts and uncles all heard of Carl coming over with at least one brother, possibly two. Carl was born in 1849. We suspect he was in the Prussian Army, there was a mysterious photo of him in a "fancy" uniform with a spiked helmet. Everyone jokes that he probably deserted because he was very closed-mouthed about anything as was my grandfather. Carl was apparently not a very pleasant person. I've been told he shot my grandfather at one time, and my aunts and uncles all remember him as very awnry. I have found a couple of great-cousins from the early 1900's but none of their descendants as of yet. There was a Charles Schrick, married to an Elizabeth in the 1910 Mo. cencus that is a possibility. They had a son named Joseph, born about 1896. I ended there because my mom had her other leg amputated and I'm staying with her for awhile. I have found several "other" Schricks' in the cencus-including a Louis, August, Julius...If I notice any dates that seem to "match up",I'll pass that along. Do you know if your ancestors ever used a different spelling?
