My name is Susan Hale Parkhurst. I am not related to the Schweisberger family. I am researching for a friend. Her family settled in Madison Township, Bremen, St. Joseph County, Indiana.
It appears that my friend descends from George Schwiesberger born abt. 1800 in Alsce France (according to census records) and Catherine Hummel. George and Catherine were likely married in Alsace (shown as "Elses" in census records), as four children were born there too. Their children Caroline & Charles were both born in Indiana. It appears from the birth dates of the children that they immigrated between between 1844 and 1850. I have not located the immigration information as of this date.
Children from this marriage are believed to be Christian, whose birth date and location is yet unknown; Katharyn, birth date and location also unknown; George born abt. 1842, Alsace, France (my friend's ancestor); Sophia C. born 15 Nov 1843, Alsace, France; Margaret, born abt. 1844; Caroline, born 13 May 1850, St. Joseph Co., Indiana; and Charles "Charlie", born 1852, Indiana (likely St. Joseph Co.).
As a side line, I have done some research on the families in Ohio. You mention that one of the Ohio descendants married a Fultz. My husband descends from the Fultz family in Pennsylvania. They were quite prolific. Can you tell me any more about the Fultz connection to the Schweisbergers?
