Just saw this (I posted a few minutes ago regarding your question on Hoppin).
I am related through Daniel Schofield b, 1770.It's highly likely that Daniel was a child of Hezekiah however I do not have a primary source document proving this.
Hezekiah had a son (David, who also served in the Revolutionary War).Hezekiah and David lived together in Warwick, Orange County, NY and then both removed to Pompton, Bergen County, NJ in the early 1790's.(In the 1830's Pompton, Bergen County, NJ later became West Milford, Passaic County, NJ).
Daniel showed up in Pompton not too long after Hezekiah and David moved there.David Schofield applied for a Revolutionary War pension in the 1830's and, in the accompanying documentation, was testimony from Daniel Schofield. In that testimony, Daniel states that he was a "bedfellow" with David when David was home (on leave) from the Orange County Militia during the Revolution.
So, clearly, David and Daniel were related (and were most probably brothers) but Daniel's testimony says the two were "bedfellows" - it doesn't say "brothers."
I do have a lot of information on Hezekiah, David and Daniel and I know I have at least some information on Jonathan and, possibly, Mary.I'll dig that out and get back to you on that.
As an aside, Hezekiah died in 1804.There are extremely few graveyard/headstone records from that time period in Pompton/West Milford but a couple of years ago Hezekiah's burial stone was found. That was quite a thrill.Presbyterian Church.
I'll be back in touch.Let me know what you know about Mary and Jonathan, thanks.
