Kevin, I researched this family for a friend last year.I didn't find August's death date, do you have the full date and where he is buried?Do you know when Clara died?
The immigrated to America on the SS Rhynland, from Antwerp, Belgium to New York, arrived 31 Dec. 1888. Ship's master was Allen J. Griffin.Name was transcribed as Scoby.
Augustine Scoby age 40, bookbinder, from Belgium, destination McDonald (Washington Co., PA); came in with one bag, traveled steerage, compartment Q, never been in the country before
Clara Scoby, age 37, wife, everything else the same except she had no bags.
Eugene Scoby, age 9, child, (F) no bags, compartment W. (this does say F)
Adolphine Scoby, age 2. child (F), no bags, compartment X
My friend is descended from Eugene, from whom are you descended?
