In the Rev. War, a Colonel Scriven commanded the 3rd Georgia Brigade. Could Col. Scriven be the same as your General Screven? My George Lawson Stapleton along with William Rouse were in that Brigade and became prisoners in British prison ships, and released in 1783. I am searching for a friendly or familial connection, if any, between Stapleton, Rouse, Screven in Virginia in the mid 1700 to 1820s. I noted that "Dawson & Scriven" had a land dealing with a Solomon in South Carolina 1793-1796 (Rouse Family History)My Rouse lived in Charleston, SC.
Any help will be appreciated.
