In regard to the Seager line – my Emily SEAGER was born in about 1823 but I don’t know where. There were several “Seagers” in SA who appeared to be born around the same time frame but possibly from different strains. For example the following SA connections have occurred: Thomas b 1820 fathered Sarah (1840) and she married F I SMITH Fred Wm b 1821 died in 1880 Emily b 1832 married Robert DEAN – he buried alone in West Tce. George Seager b 1827 married Ann VANT Sydney SEAGER born about 1827 in Middlesex married Jackson then Sweetman And then Daniel born in about 1830 fathered children (poss 7) to Jane WOOLEY
Interestingly Emily married at Littlehampton Sarah and Moses WRAIGHT were at Mt Barker
There may be no direct connection to the Seager and the spelling does vary into Seger and Segar but that is of little consequence unless one takes the puritanical approach that all spelling is accurate. I take the approach of that the majority of the population were illiterate and had no idea how to spell the name.
I wonder if any of this has any connection to Your SEAGER. Jan
