Hello, Mary Ann, Looking on my FTM, I see that you are a granddaughter of "Aunt Betty".I heard her spoken of often by my mother-in-law, Thelma."This was Betty's watch," she would say when asked the time.
My husband, George Mack, was one of the 7 children of Caty Thelma Sealy who married Marvin Ross Park, and they lived across the road from the old Sealy homeplace.Uncle Oliver lived in the old home, and sometimes with Thelma and Marvin.
Through the years I got the bulk of my Sealy information from Cecil Sealy who was a son of ?Charlie?--may be wrong. He lived in Tuscaloosa and kept up with lots of family, and graciously shared with us up until his death.
Do you have the good picture of Catherine Ellender Howard? If not, I'd love to share.I am sure you have much that I don't, but if I do have any tid-bits, I'd love to hand them to you.One of the later finds--and this was from another Sealy cousin, but via Cecil--was the maiden name of Ferdinand's wife.Catherine was known, but not a proven surname. This cousin had proof that it was Waters.Without notes in front of me, I don't know exactly what proofs he offered.
We just got power after Irene stormed through our Chesapeake Bay area--no real damage, but maybe a new roof.
Would love to talk.Contact me directly if you wish.
