One of my research tasks is nearing completion. For over three years, I have been reading microfilms of the MA births, marriages and deaths for the years 1850 to 1895.I'm presently in the 1880's, but the end is near!
These records are in big books at the MA Archives, but they have been filmed by the LDS FHL, so they are available around the country.
There are separate indices for births, marriages and deaths.Using the indices, I made a spreadsheet for each category and put the index items in volume/page order. Then I look up the film number in the FHLC for the volume I need.I order 3 to 5 films each week at the FHC and search them for Seaver/Sever people. There are usually 5 to 10 items on each film to find and write down.
I'm still trying to figure out the best way to put this data on the web.I only want to type it up once!My first thought was to put it on the SEAVER-L mailing list in pieces. The second thought was to put a SEAVER website on rootsweb.com and post it there, along with other data.
If you need a SEAVER birth, marriage or death record in the 1850 to 1895 time frame, please let me know.
