William and Esther Seawright
Hi Seawright and etcs family- I recieved severalmessages from persons who answered my messagesof three years ago. I'm starting a new page because its would be easier to find under the present date rather than looking into the gen forum of three years ago.
First of all, I met Nellie Seawright Reeves in person several years ago at the Seawright reunion near the town of Donalds, SC. The reunion was held at the Greenville Presbyterian church near Donads, SC. Nell did a fantastic job on her genealogy of the Seawrights of South Carolina. She spent almost a lifetime on her reseaching.
But I found several error on the early part (1675 to1760) research by Andrea, a historian of SC and not related to the Seawright family. I did go to the Columbia Uvis of SC and looks into the mirofilms by Andrea. Its was kinda vauge and some unanswer questions. I did looks into at the University on the book "History of Orangeburg county of SC.
Andrea stated that William and Esther Seawright were born in Ireland in 1675. I ask Nellie if she seens the proof of this records and she said no. I also ask her if she knew about the naming pattern use by the Presbyterian church ( the Scotch-Irish naming pattern) and again she said no. I'm sure Andrea never hear of its before. I am going to take a break here and will send a reply tomorrow to continue on my message. Jim
