Looking for pedigree on a Jacob Seelinger, Catholic, Erie, PA.Married a Kate Wagner, had five children in Erie: Joseph 1853, Eveline, Kate, Frank and Anna.As a surveyor, went to Oklahoma and then on to Houston, TX.He died in Texas in 1871 at age 45.A sixth child, John, was born in 1872 in Texas.Mother Kate died and all six kids were returned to Erie, PA into foster homes.
1. I can't find if Jacob was born in the U.S.A.
2. I find a Jacob b. 1822 Evangelisch (not Katholische) Lampertheim, Starkenburg Hessen.Em. 1846 Naturalization in Erie. 1863 lists Germany, "Bayern", but age disagrees.
3. I find two born 1828 Ditto "Evan-Lamp-Stark-Hessen" but age doesn't agree.
4. I find one on passenger-immigration lists age 24 - LeHarve to N.Y. - April 25, 1849.That agrees with age 45 in 1871 i.e. b. 1825-6 but can't find a pedigree or downline.
Could you please help.Thank you.
