This is very exciting news, it concures with something my Grandmother Hattie Seagraves use to say. She that "the Seagraves that came to America (our line) was a English man from Ireland."This makes sense of what she said.Up til now I hadn't found anything, that would confirm her story.
Also My sister Deanna had been doing research on the web, and had discovered not only Seagraves village of Leichstershire co. (which we had heard about through a cousin of ours, and had trouble finding. he thought it was in Whales.) But the De Seagraves were barons, and a Baron Stephen De Segrave rented Caludon casel in 1305, for a sparrowhawk a year. I wander if it was hard to find those sparrowhawks? She also found infromation on John De Seagrave, and that he had captured William Wallace. But Jerry's infromation is a bit more chilling, and gruesome. I saw that movie, I don't remember hearing the name Seagrave being said.
Thank you both. This is indeed interesting family history.
