I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men is Maurice (Morris) Sequin (Seguin) (Sigen). He enlisted 21 Aug 1862 at Darlington, Lafayette Co. WI.'
Morris (b. 1837/40 in Illinois) & Benjamin (b. 1837 in Illinois)Sigen are listed on the 1850 census for Willow Springs, Lafayette Co., WI as living in the home of Juste "Kink" & Emiline "King" Relationships are not given.In 1860 he is listed as laborer at Centre, Lafayette Co., WI, living with samuel Carpenter, shoemaker. In 1890 & 1900 he was at Sully Co., SD.He d. 14 Feb 1902 & is buried at Onida Cemetery, Onida, SD.
