Hi Melissa and LynneGreat to hear from you both.To clarify:My grandad was Charles Boyd Sellers, born in 1888.His parents were John Hughes Sellers (born 1853 a cloth finisher)and Mary (Boyd) Sellers (born 1852) they were married in 1872.
John parents were:John Sellers (a slater) married Helen Hughes.
Mary's parents were Charles Boyd who married Janet Thomson.I don't have dates.
In 1988 after my mum died, my dad went back to Scotland for a holiday, he stopped off in Canada and stayed with his cousins - Ontario I think.
My dad had 2 sisters, Agnes Dickie and Mary Todd (both nee Sellers) They have now both passed away too but I keep in touch with their children.I don't have any details about Charlies siblings.
My grandmother was Rubina Hamilton, her parents were Robert Hamilton (1852-1906) m Agnes McAlpine Black(1852-1926) in 1875.
I believe there were 2 sistersLizzie (who went to Canada) and Agnes who lived in Paisley, up in the "big" house. We went to visit her in 1961 when we were back for a holiday.I remember having lunch but the gardener had to sit outside, he wasn't allowed in the house.
