Looking for information on our MEDLEY/MEDLAY mystery man. His first name is possibly Nerious or Nerian. His widow's obit refers to him as "Conrad," which perhaps was his middle name.
The only facts known about him are: (1) he married Dora Jane Stott (b. 7 Feb. 1860) in 1889 in Webster County, Missouri; and (2) his daughter, Etta Goldie MEDLEY/MEDLAY was born 30 June 1891 at Marshfield, Webster Co., MO.
He died shortly thereafter, perhaps in 1893, location unknown, perhaps in a logging accident. His widow and child returned to her family in Van Buren, Hancock County, Ohio, in 1898.
It is possible that "N. Conrad" and his wife Dora lived in Iowa sometime during their marriage.
Dora might have had relatives in Webster County, MO, through her mother's family: the obit of her mother, Emaline SELLOW/SELLON/SULLEN (b. 5 Aug 1828), states that her family moved from Stuben Co. NY first to Republic, OH and then to Webster Co. MO. By 1848 Emaline, age 20, moved from there to Van Buren, Hancock County, OH, where she married William Stott in 1850.
