Amy, Holy cow!I think I just found your Martin Selzer and Amalia Huber in the Radautz records today!!I found a Martin born June 5, 1873 to Martin Selzer and Amalia Huber! These records are great because they also say parents names if they know them and it says that Martin was born in Satulmare (again I think that's Deutsch Satulmare which is evidently right by Radautz) and is the son of Jacob Selzer and Katharina Reif!!(That's my Jacob Sr)! And it says Amalia Huber was born in Altfradautz (sp?), the daughter of Martin Huber and Julianna Weber!Sad to say I wasn't able to get a copy of this because the copier was broken!!But I need to go back to get other copies so have it on my list!
I found an earlier birth for a Jacob Selzer, born July 20, 1868 to Martin Selzer, son of Jacob Selzer and Katarina (and I can't read her last name) and Maria Huber (not Amalia), born in Altfradautz, the daughter of Martin Huber and Julianna Weber!Do you think Amalia and Maria are the same?
And also saw Simon's record today in 1875 but couldn't make a copy of that either.(Am just up to the 1876 records).Am going on my lunch hours from work to look at these records -- is kind of a slow process but is fascinating.I think the whole town of Radautz intermarried!!
Anyway, have found out a lot more about Jacob Selzer and Katharina Reif -- at first I just knew they had one son Jacob. Now I'm up to 10 children!!
Indeed I found these on the Mormon tapes. If you're interested, can get you the tape numbers, or would be happy to send you copies of what I've found if you'd like.
Sorry for not responding sooner, I forgot to check the Selzer site!Duh!
