As a researcher of the 26th Alabama I'm always searching Union records for info on members of that Regiment. While searching the records of POW's that died at Camp Douglas, Illinois I ran across the following entries and I was shocked.Anybody know the story of these men?
Daniel Senn, Company E, 1st Alabama Inf. died Aug. 5, 1862 L. Senn, Company F, 1st Alabama Inf. died May 12, 1862 Nathaniel Senn, Company E, 1st Alabama Inf. died Aug 5, 1862 Samuel Senn, Company E, 1st Alabama Inf. died August 5, 1862
How did these three men, more than likely related, in the same company, die on the same day? Were they exectued? The chances of them dying of disease on the same day is atronomical.I sure would like to know what happened.
