Hi James V. Subject: Serfass family of OH and MO I have not encountered any information on Emma Matilda Serfass in my Serfass family genealogy search. However, based on the information you have provided, it would appear that there is a close association to my great gradfather, Frank Serfass.I will begin with Frank's father:
Cornelius Serfass (Peter, Lawrence, Wihelm & Johan Philip) was born July 22,1823 in Monroroe Co. PA and died January 8, 1864.He married Elizabeth Henich (Haney). The children born to that union are: Carl H. Serfass, b. Feb.21, 1841 Catharine Serfass, b. Jan. 18, 1843 Julia A. Serfass b. Sept. 29, 1844 Elizabeth Serfass b. May 7, 1846 Sarah Serfass b. 1849 Andrew Serfass b. Jul. 14, 1851, (mar-Harriet Myers) Frank Serfass, b. April 10,1853, Barberton, Summitt Co. Ohio - d. Nove 25, 1937, Doylestown, Wayne Co. OH (mar-Alvesta Snyder in Missouri)
and Emma Matilda Serfass married Colvenus Snyder in Missouri and returned to live in Ohio !!!
My father told me we were PA Dutch and that my great grandfather came to Ohio in a covered wagon from Missouri,.About 10 years ago I learned the "rest of the story", After Cornelius died in Wayne Co., OHhis wife Elizabeth remarried and moved to Missouri taking Frank with her.Frank met, married Alvesta, and had two sons before returning to Ohio about 1879.Alvesta died in 1920 and in Faranks later years, relatives moved in with Frank to take care of him.The relatives name was Snyder. It is certainly possible that more children were born to Cornelius and Elizabeth after Frank.
