ALMER A. SERVOSS Birth:, , New York [That ", ," means town and county unknown] Spouse:ALZADA H. COLEFamily Marriage:29 AUG 1886Mount Pleasant, Isabella, Michigan Husband Age at Marriage:24 Wife Age at Marriage:19
So, he was born about 1862 and the 1854 "Allyn" isn't him.
Determined, I went back to the LDS 1880 http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asphttp://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp and looked for any "Almer" (ie, no surname) in Michigan born 1862, +/- 2 years. There were over 200, because you can't specify exact spelling AND a birth year without a last name in the LDS 1880, so I got all the Elmers also. I used my browser's "Search" function for "> NY" to get the ones born in NY, went through the first 200, went to the next 200 and found:

Based on his age, how he spells his name, birth state and the county, I'd be willing to bet $10 at 3:1 that this is him. Either the original enumerator or the LDS transcriber dropped the terminal "ss" from the surname. I've seen worse. Emma is probably Phillip's second wife. Almer may or may not be her son. The gap between Almer and Alonzo or the gap between Alonzo and Mina may be wife #1 dying and Phillip struggling on his own before he marries a widow lady. Maybe not; just don't assume Emma is Almer's mother.
I tried "Almer" in Michigan with no birth year, and exact spelling, got 63 of them. That would have been a better strategy.
I'm telling you all this so that you can repeat the exercise with other relatives. Alzada Cole is a gimmie; she is the only one in Michigan. They aren't always that easy.
The US Gen Web site for Isabella County has a search engine: http://www.rootsweb.com/~miisabel/isasearch.htmhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~miisabel/isasearch.htm It has 172 hits for "Servoss" in all of Roots Web, 38 for just Isabella County. Phillip and Emma are buried there.
