Paul Serwacki HAVANA -- Paul Edward Serwacki, 64, of 1132 S. 10th St., died at 7:09 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Cremation has been accorded. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Sister Sheila Prendeville will officiate. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery in Summum. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation. He was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Haverhill, Mass., to Frank and Rita Ricard Serwacki. He married Karen Bishop (Harris) on July 31, 1975. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Robert Serwacki of Missoula, Mont., and Scott Serwacki of Arkadelphia, Ark.; one daughter, Terri Serwacki of Belleville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Manya Thomas of Blue Mound. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacie Miller, and two brothers. Serwacki was a building contractor for many years. He then worked for the Federal government as a construction analyst with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for more than 20 years, retiring in 2001. He was a United States Army veteran.
