Dear Amanda
I have been researching the Newton County, MO. Severs/Seavers family since 1962.
I am aware of the James Scevers, Eliza Jane Burkhart union through a census and also have a note or letter by sheriff A.C. [Arron} Chote, where a James Scevers was sent to Texas. In all my research in county records I was unable to connect James Scevers to William and Matilda Severs.I find a James Severs in court records in Newton County as late as 1880.I have a Burkhart line that came from Rutherford County, TN, as follows: Peter Burkhart and family are in 1860 Newton County census. There are 2 Burkhart families found in Newton, County, mine from TN and the other one from IN. No one has been able to connect these 2 Burkhart families! In looking at the Burkhart forum I found a person who had connected the Scevers to my Severs and Burkhart's but the data was very wrong, I told the person I had the correct info. on my Severs/Burkhart's but did not hear back.
Sincerely
Carol Severs, Clouse
