Hi Les, Thanks for writing. I don't have any Jacob and Catherine Kinser anywhere. I do have a Wendel, b. 1686, to Hans and Barbara Spengler Seibert, and his nephews, Hans Bernhard, b. 1717 and Joh. Jacob, b. 1719, sons of Nickel and Anna Maria Molter. (The 3 names were on the ship Davy, Oct. 25, 1738, with different spellings.) Jacob would have been 39 when killed at Fort Seybert. BUT your parents don't agree.
If Bernhard came to Columbia Co. in 1790, he would have been 73 and Sebastian, who probably shared the same grgrandfather, would have been 64. Bernhard could have had son Elias, and grandson, Bernhard, b. 1807. But why is Bernhard mentioned only once, with the church business in 1794, with no mention of family? And why wasn't he in 1790 Census like Sebastian and family? Did he come after the census and die after 1794? I know a "Widow Seybert" was on a 1797 map.
I'll keep checking. We'll get this figured out if we live long enough!Sarah
