Plattsburgh — Viola M. Gold, 88, of South Peru Street, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh on April 15, 1912, the daughter of the late William and Victorica (Jabaut) Sharron. Viola was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory Academy, Class of 1930 and had worked at Imperial Wallpaper Mill for 40 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and the Altar Rosary Society of Our Lady of Victory. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Porter of Plattsburgh; a grandson, Peter Porter and his wife Suk of Mountain Home, Idaho; two adopted grandsons and their spouses, Keith and Cindy Porter of West Chazy and Kevin and Stephanie Porter of Peaseleeville; six adopted great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Lucille Collette; brothers Lester, Harold and Earl Sharron; and a son-in-law, Sherwin "Bud" Porter. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at the Brown Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Garvin Demarais, pastor of the Catholic Community of Keeseville, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
