This is not official genealogy, and I am not related but wanted to note that I found the following information in some family trees on Ancestry.com.Again this is "not official" but hopefully will give you some clues and leads a place "Bristol, Rhode Island," and a time period (dates):
A Nathaniel Hix West, b 23 Nov 1751, is noted as the son of John West Jr (1714 - 1787) and Lydia Stanhope (1709 - 1816, unsure of her dates - that's living until a healthy 107 years old, and other citations give her maiden name as Hicks). He was supposedly married to a Rebecca Sheldon on 22 Feb 1786 in Bristol, Bristol County, Rhode Island. She was noted as the daughter of a William Sheldon and Lydia 'unknown.'
Another tree notes that Rebecca Sheldon died 10 Jan 1797, and then Nathaniel Hix West married Mrs. Nellie Easterbrooks 04 Mar 1798.Here it gives parents John West's dates as (1715 - 1787) and Lydia "HICKS" (different NEE) dates as (1717 - 1816).
Children listed for Nathaniel and Rebecca are: Jonathan, Royal, and James Sheldon.Children listed for Nathaniel and Nellie are: William, Rebecca, and Susanna Easterbrooks West.
I checked www dot usgenweb dot net > Rhode Island > Bristol County, and one of the things I found was a military list noting there was a Nathaniel West who was able to bear arms during the Revolutionary War.
Yet another source gives "Nelly" Easterbrook's parents as William Easterbrook and Susannah Luther from Warren County, Rhode Island. This shows grandparents W Easterbrooks and Patience Salisbury as well as Consider Luther and Margaret Jewett. This citation is then in conflict with the prior that lists her as Mrs. Nellie Easterbrook.
Now, with all of this, it would be interesting to find local (Bristol) cemetery transcriptions. There you would be looking for any "West" clue, including a Rebecca West and so on...with these clues, perhaps someone else might be able to help.
