Jackson's parents.Was John Thomas Jackson the son of John Calhoun Jackson and also the brother of Emma Frances "Fannie" Jackson?Sorry, I didn't quite understand your Rufus Ezra Jackson & Martha Levorah Shelnut connection after reading some of your other posts re Joseph Jackson.Also,fyi, my grandfather, Mitchell Gay Wood, and his first wife had a son, Joe Burney Wood who md. Ninna Belle Jackson.Ninna told me her parents were Rufus Ezra Jackson b. 22Oct1881 d. 15Mar1969 and Elizabeth Nutt.Here is Ninna's obit which spelled her name wrong as well as her husband's and Harvey Shelnutt(right?-not Shelnurr): October 2, 2000
Mrs. Ninner Belle Jackson Wood Former Heard County resident Mrs. Ninner Belle Jackson Wood, 97, of Austell, died Wednesday at the Wellstar Hospital in Douglasville.
Mrs. Wood was born March 3, 1903 in Heard County, the daughter of Rufus E. Jackson and Betty Nutt Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bernie Wood and daughter, Ruth Dyer. Mrs. Wood and her husband were merchants in Heard County for many years. She was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church.
The funeral was Thursday from the Chapel of Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Marion Shivers officiating. Music was by Bonita Wortham. Pallbearers were Robert Nelms, Hugh Nelms, Donnie Nelms, Harvey Shelnurr, Cary Jackson and Tim Jackson. Burial was in the Franklin City Cemetery.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Louie and Linda Wood of Lithia Springs; one grandson and daughter-in-law, John and Joy Dyer of Alpharetta; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Pope Dyer of Alpharetta; one sister, Sarah Gosdin of Jonesboro.(Clayton Co.)
