Dear Researchers, I hope the information below is helpful!!!
I do not know anything more about William M. AMIS or his children except what is on the censuses below. His wife, Lucinda Ann [Sherrard] was the daughter of William Henry SHERRARD & Nancy Ellen [BLANKENSHIP] who died in Texas.
Lucinda [Sherrard] is shown in the 1880 census below living with her parents Wm Henry Sherrard & Nancy Ellen [Blankenship] and in 1900 living with her parents, her husband, and 3 children.

Lucy and her family were enumerated twice in 1920 - by the closeness of the census dates, I'm guessing the family had been in Arkansas and were moving back to Texas and thus were counted twice and just 5 days apart as Bowie County borders Red River on the east.

***At this point I will make some notes for any Amis or Sherrard researchers for clarification....
(1) "Elsie" and "Mary E" are the same daughter
(2) William and Caldin and William C, are the same son
(3) Lucy's mother, Nancy Ellen [Blankenship] Sherrard's obituary was either screwed up by the newspaper or whoever gave the information which makes sense she died and was buried on the same day..... comparing Nancy's TDR & obituary leaves no doubt they refer to the same person:
DEATH - TDR #13359 "Mrs. Nancy Ellen SHERRARD, age 75 yrs + 16 days; residence 5406 Garland St, Dallas, Tx; resident of Dallas 15 yrs; white female; widow; born March 20th 1850 in Mo; Father J.B. Blankenship; mother unknown; died April 6th 1925, burial Grove Hill Memorial Cemetery 06 Apr 1925; informant J.H. Sherrard of Dallas, Texas."
OBITUARY - Dallas Time Herald, Monday, April 06, 1925, pg 9 "Mrs MARY Ellen SHERRARD, 75 years old, a resident of Dallas for fifteen years, died Monday morning at her home, 5406 Garland Avenue. Surviving are three sons, J H, George D, and M B Sherrard of Dallas, and a daughter Mrs A. Day of Clarksville, Tex. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery."
(3a) Nancy is shown in the HH of Thomas Blankenship in 1860 Dallas Co Tx so either her TDR info is wrong or she wasn't Thomas' child........(got to find her on the 1850 census to prove her father!!)
(3b) In 1910, Nancy stated she had 5 living chn and records show these 4 sons and 1 daughter were living in 1910: John H, George G, Lucinda, Milledge Bonham, Joseph C (he died between 1910-1925).
(3c) Nancy had a sister "Mrs Alfred DAY" living when she died - the obituary may have omitted some information or the informant meant to say "survived by sister "Mrs A. DAY" (???) as her daughter Mrs Lucinda Amis was living in Clarksville, Texas in 1920 and still married to William Amis in 1930....
(4) Lucinda's brother, Milledge Bonham Sherrard died 05 Jun 1930 in Dallas and his obituary states survived by... "two brothers G.G. and J.H. of Dallas, and one sister Mrs Lucy AMES of England, Arkansas"
NOW, Lucy and family are in Arkansas
