General Sheridan

Hi William
Absolutely fascinating!
My name is Philip Shanahan from Australia. I've just spent a couple of weeks in Ireland tracing my family. My Great Great Grandfather James Sheridan was the only Sheridan leasing land in Beagh Glebe, Killinkere in the early 1850's.
I was wondering about the source of your early information. Is there a way of finding out about Johns brothers?
Three of my mothers unmarried(there must have been something odd about the Sheridan women!)aunts,Margaret b.1868, Catherine b.1870 and Rose b.1873 emigrated to the US in 1903, possibly with stories of a family connection(real or otherwise) to the General. In true Sheridan style they were never heard from again but perhaps this is a factor in all this interest in the General.
Also I would have thought that two young people (ie. Frances and Phil) living together in the 1850's would have produced children. What do you think?
Hope to hear from you.
Kindest regards
Philip
