Sherringtons in Wigan, Lancashire

There are quite a lot of Sherringtons in Wigan. My branch of the family were involved with the hardware and ironmongery trade and there were several shops dotted around the town right up until the 1970's. The shops were founded by my great grandfather who had several sons (9?) and my grandad Albert was one of these. My father David worked in the Wigan shop in Makinsons Arcade with Albert.
