There are lists of the Palatine families that were sent from London to Ireland ("Lists of Germans from the Palatinate who came to England in 1709, compiled by John Tribbeko and George Ruperti - C.O. 388/76, No. 56, 56i, 56ii, 64, 68-70 in the Public Record Office, London, England - is the source listed in H. Z. Jones book).London List of May 6, 1709 lists Sheuer, John Adam - w. 2 son, 1 dau.(Walter Kittle "Early Eighteenth Century Palatine Emigration")
I have seen the same information in several different places. This is, I believe, the origin of the fact that Johann Adam Shier came from Palatine, to London to Ireland.
I have his death as 1758 and the source as H. Z. Jones, Palatine Families of Ireland - he lists his source as Registers of the Protestant Church at Rathkeale, County Limerick, Ireland beginning 1742 - transcribed for him by Rev. D. K. O. Earle, 1961-1964.
I have emailed back and forth a few times with Hank Jones and he did more research on the Palatine immigration in Germany but at the time I talked to him, he had not found any more information about the Shier family.
Should you find any more information, I would be interested in hearing about it.
I have Palatine Families of Ireland if you want anything from it.He lists a few pages of Shier information, although it is not complete since he missed a generation in my Henry Shier line, because the church records are missing before 1742, but I filled in the generation from a will I found.
