The 1827 Land Lottery has Elizabeth Shirey (Widow)-Woods District-Washington Co. -7th Day- Drawing Troupe County-District 6-Lot 11.Suspect she is the widow of Isaiah and living with Benjamin Shiry in the 1830 Census being 60-70 years old.Could part of this bunch gone to Troupe Co? Don't know how/when Troupe/Heard was formed. The bunch coming down from Gwinnett to Heard may have been part of this family.
1830 Census has: 244A/B-19-Shiry, Benj'n1-0-0-0-2-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-1-1-0-0-0-1which suggest Benjamin(20-30) , his wife(20-30) and son (under 5), his mother(60-70) and perhaps a brother(20-30)and sister or sister-in-law (15-20).
1840 Washington Co Census:Couldn't find Shiry, but did find:218-4-Shira, Samuel 0-1-1-0-0-0-1-0-0-0-0-0-0-2-2-1-0-0-2 and 219-23-Shira, John M. 0-1-0-1-1-0-1-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-1-1-0-0-0-1. These just may be Shiry as a Samuel and John M. Shiry show up in the 1850 Census.
