On the 13th day of February, 1859, Joseph Mishler was united in marriage to Elizabeth SHIVELY who was born in Preble County, Ohio May 5, 1839.Mrs. Mishler was the daughter of JACOB and REBECCA (BROWER) SHIVELY who, about the year 1839 came to Huntington County and located on a farm in the township of Rock Creek.Mr. SHIVELY died in 1897 at the ripe old age of eighty-five.The mother of Mrs. Mishler died in 1843.Mrs. Mishler was the second of four children:The oldest, Christina, married Osias Metz, departed this life in 1863; the third in order of birth was JOSEPH, who died in 1866; the youngest, Maria, wife of Frederick K. Sheets, was called to the other world in the year 1895.

George W. Cline
The father of George W. Cline, James Cline, married Anna SHIVELY, who was a native of Stark County.They married in Preble County and during the year 1839 came to Indiana and located in Rock Creek Township. Their trip to Indiana was made in the regular pioneer style, with wagons drawn by ox teams, and there was a large family party, consisting of seven men, all of them brothers-in-law, with their respective families.All of them located in Huntington County, and James Cline found a location one mile north and half mile east of Rock Creek Center.The other brothers-in-law were:Daniel SHIVELY, who located at Andrews; Jacob SHIVELY, of Rock Creek Township; Samuel Wolf of Rockford Township; Gideon Lautis, of Rock Creek; John Detrow, of Union Township, and Henry Wintrode, of Andrews. In 1893, Mr. Cline (George W.) married the widow of JOSEPH SHIVELY, but she has since met death by an unfortunate accident.

George W. Cline
One of the most successful and influential farmers of Huntington County, Indiana, is George W. Cline who resides on his splendid farm of over three hundred acres in Rock Creek Township.He was born in Preble County, Ohio, January 1, 1838, and is a son of James and Annie (SHIVELY) Cline.His mother was a native of Stark County, Ohio and his father was from Rockingham County, West Virginia.His maternal grandfather, ULLRICH SHIVELY, was a native of Germany.Mr. Cline married (2nd time) in 1891 to his present wife, Mrs. CATHERINE SHIVELY, widow of JOSEPH SHIVELY and daughter of Daniel Snider.They have one daughter, Lizzie, who married Henry Rarick, a farmer of this neighborhood.
