I found a Report by Don Norman on the Internet about the Descendants of Henry Shock. He has Henry Shock born in Germany in 1742 and came to America about 1750 with his parents in 1750.He is listed as a taxpayer in Shenandoah County, Virgina in 1783.He bought land in Greenbrier Co. in 1796.His children were John, born 1771, Elizabeth, b. 1778 (named after his wife), Henry, b. 1785 (went to Pike Co. Ohio), Jacob (perhaps named after his father), Sarah, b. 1795, Christina (named after his wife's mother), Regina, b. 1800.Elizabeth married Alexander Duffield and died in Peoria Co. Illinois in 1855.Henry eventually founded a family that went to Wayne County and Appanoose County, Iowa about 1850.The others apparently stayed in the Virginia and West Virginia area.It would be interesting to trace all of these people back to a common set of immigrants since this is not a common name.
