Hi, My daughter recently married into a Wiles family in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and it's now time to research that line. I have spoken to her father-in-law who is in his 80's but he was not able to provide much information. What he did provide follows:
His parents James Wiles d. 1960 married an Ellen Shoebridge d. 1968. Both parents were born in Tonbridge Wells, Kent England. He believes his parents emigrated to Canada from England sometime betwen 1914 and 1918. They had three children Albert (the oldest and the only one born in England), Frederick James b. July 17 1921 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and Dorothy Winnifred Ellen (commonly called Betty also born in Canada).
Frederick has three children Thomas Paul (my daughters husband) and Timothy James (twins b. Sept 27, 1959) and James Frederick (born Sept 7, 1960).
Does anyone have any further information that they would be willing to share?
