I finally found the newsletter I was looking for!SHOGER NEWS, Vol 1 No. 4May 1, 1999 states and I quote: "Another letter came from Darrel Shoger in Kansas and the name Cecil caught my attention. I remembered my dad's letter about a going away party at Caroline Schoger Knapp's home for a group that went to Kansas and no one ever heard from them again. My dad said they had the reddest hair he had ever seen and he remembered a little kid named Cecil. The son of Cecil has sent email. Cecil's nickname was Red because his hair was so red."The author of the SHOGER NEWS letter is Alice Shoger Mawdsley. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.orgI know Alice will provide you with a wealth of Shoger information.I know this Shoger family line came from Marktlustenau, Wertenberg, Germany. The family immigrated to America between 1853 and 1856 and settled in Oswego, Kendall county, Illinois which is about 35 miles west of Chicago. Hope this helps you!
