Johann Philip Schreidt/Philip Schried Some researcher (not sure who) is said to have hired a genealogist who identified the original Shride as Johann Philip Schreidt who arrived on the Ship Friendship from Amsterdam but last from Gosport Qual. Oct. 21, 1754.He signed his name with an X.
I have seen on the internet two lists on record from the Ship Friendship. On list “224A” p. 642 (probably of a book Pennsylvania German Pioneers) Philip Schried is listed. On List 224C from the same source “At the State House at Philadelphia, Monday, the 21st Day of October, 1754” the name is Johann Philip Schreidt. There is no indication on the list that anyone came with him from his family. But I think it is possible women and children were not listed.
A 1769 Proprietary Tax List p 157 Mulberry Ward PA lists a Philip Shride (owns nothing notable). SLCD 974.811 R4pThis is 15 years after Johann Philip arrived.I am thinking Johann Philip may have been called Phillip.
