Dear Charles,
I just finished my DAR registration under Nicholas Sibrell. I have information I could email you directly.
I have been lax pinning down information on my great grandma Josephine's sisters. Samantha was the eldest and she married David Bennett Miller.
Then Josephine. Charlotte died between the 1860 and 1870 census. No death certificate exists and my mother never knew about her.
Lydia married Jefferson Evans.Census info show that Jefferson and Lydia had four children.I've found names for 3, and the fourth must have been born after 1900 and died before 1910 as in 1900 she is reported as the mother of 3 children, all of whom were then still living. In 1910 she was reported as the mother of 4 children, 2 of them still living.Eldest child, Zephyr disappears after 1900.She was a school teacher at that time in Indianapolis and unmarried.Whether she got married later I cannot find yet or she could be one of the children that died.Daughter Lottie was married first, in Warren Co., in 1894.Apparently the family moved from Warren Co., to Indy for a short while, but are back in Warren Co., in 1910.Anyway, Lottie and her first husband, Henry (Bert) Van Reed have a daughter, Geneva born Feb. 1898.By 1910 this daughter is living with Jefferson and Lydia and still so in 1920.Lottie and Bert were apparently divorced by 1901 when he married a second time and she married a second time to a James Croft in 1905.I cannot find Lottie and her second husband ever in the census however. She may have died since her daughter is listed with her grandparents in both 1910 and 1920.
Daughter Merle married in Marion Co., to a Henry Karst. Here again, I cannot find them in the census. We know however that at least two of these girls are still living in 1910, which ones?
An interesting note, Lydia Sibrell's name must have been Lydia Geneva or Geneva Lydia Sibrell and granddaughter, Geneva Van Reed named after her.I see in the 1860 census that Lydia is listed as "Geneva Siberell", age 6.
I have found Zepher buried in Warren County Indepence IN.She did marry. I evidently never entered her info into my file. A cousin Carl said she was not quite right but married a nice man who took care of her. Peter Sibrell gave her land in Independence.
