:0-Wish I could myself. One is a Stanly Co NC descendant of Nelson Sides m Martha Hatley, the other is a Seitz descendant of Johannes Seitz & wife Catherine of PA.
I am by no means a DNA expert but was asked by one interested Sides descendant if the test would work if one has a great-grandfather (male) Sides and a grandmother Sides descent. The answer is that the test must be from an unbroken male line, but what can be done in that circumstance is to find a direct line male descendant from the grandmother's BROTHER (natural brother, of course). So, don't let the fact that you may be female or not be of a male line of descent stop you-if you have a direct line cousin, etc, he can take the test as your proxy.
So please let me know if you want to take the test. Reason you let me know as opposed to signing up direct? There's a discount for the Sides/Seitz group, the FamilyDNA people send billing with the test kit.
