Thomas A. Siefken prominent in the agricultural business and political circles of Clay county was born in Lee county, IL on April 12, 1873. Son of Hero S and Jane (Sutton) Siefken, the former a native of Germany and the latter of Ohio. Both parents came to IL at an early date and were there married. They made their home in IL until 1879 when they came west to NE where the father purchased land from the railroad.Mrs. Siefken passed away July 1909. Six children: Mrs. Mary McCoy of Arapahoe, Hannah, wife of James Robertshaw near Hastings, Frank E famer in Clay County, Thomas A, Oliver A farming near Imperial and Charles who died in 1906. Thomas married Miss Effie Lineaweaver in 1898. She was a native of Burlington, IA the daughter of Henry Lineaweaver, he was born in PA migrating to IA in the early 70's.Children of Thomas and Effie are Rugh, Mildred and Robert.
