From reading the passage, don't get the two John SIEGFRIED's confused.
John II widow married Abraham Zimmerman, John I widow Elizabeth will is mentioned with the names of John I and her children.Eliz. died in 1767, Catherine (wife of John II) was born in 1732 and died 19 Jul 17?4.Abraham then married Maria Eva Gehr

"Abraham Zimmerman immigrated toPA in thecolonial days and setteled in
Maxatawny Twsp., Berks Cty and when the patriots engaged the mother country in a
war for independence, Mr. Zimmerman was one of the first to enroll himself under the

Other records show Abe as the son of his fathers second marriage which would be
impossible since the marriage was no earlier the 1766years after his birth.
Abraham married Barbara WEHRLEY, daughter of George GERMANY and Catharine DANNER. Barbara was born about 1760 in Lancaster Co., Pa..
also found as Worley
Abraham also married (2) Catherine Rothermel FEDEROLF, daughter of Johann Peter FEDEROLF and Anna Maria ROTHERMEL, about 1767. Catherine was born 1732 in Siesholtzville, Hereford Twp., Berks Co., Pa. She died 19 Jul 17?4 in Berks Co., Pa.
per the Siegfried Family History
"She was born Catherine Federolf and lst married Johannes Siegfried. Catherine was 34 years old,
when husband John died. She then married Abraham Zimmerman and moved to Augusta Twp.,
Northumberland Co., PA."
A possible reason for the move back to Berks Cty is that it is said, Abe inherited the plantation after the
death of his father Sebastian. If this is the case, records of his children's birth may be located in
Northumberland Cty PA, and hence not destroyed in the fire of the 1920's in Berks Cty.That also
means that Abe (per the family) really is buried on the old plantation. The "Northumberland Co. PA
Biographical Sketches" does mention his name. Most ofCatherines children from her first marriage are
in Berks Cty at the time of their death and live close to the Zimmerman plantation.
Update: 4/28/00A map of Max. Twsp, Berks County was found. It clearly shows the Zimmerman
Farms next to the Siegfried Farms.I would expect the "D" Zimmerman's on the map to be David and
Daniel (or possibly Dewalt son of Abe and Barbara Werhely) and the two Abrahams to be 1: the son of
Abe and Barbra Werhley - 2: the son of Isaac and May Polly Bieber (the Bieber farms are also close by).
This map is from a time period where a number of Sebastian's descendants have moved to Columbia
Cty and Northumberland Cty.
Update:4/29/00The Rev. Pension records for Abraham Zimmerman have been found. These place the
date of his birth in 1753 which is before the marriage of Catherineand Abe Sr. It would appear the
children born prior to 1766 are the children of Margaret Berger and thos born after 1766 are the children
of Catherine.
The Brobst Family archives also now has Abe married to Catherine as the son of Sebastian Zimmerman
and Eliz. LeVan
Birth date for Sarah i snow known. She was born last and after the marriage date of Abe to Eva
Abraham and Catherine had the following children:

Isaac married Mary Polly BIEBER, daughter of Johann Dewalt Theobald BIEBER III and Margaretha LEVAN, about 1804. Mary was born 13 Aug 1781 in Pa. She died 28 Mar 1856 in Maxatawny Twp, Berks Co, PA and was buried in St. Johns Cemetery, Kutztown Maxatawny Twp, Berks Co, PA.

4 M iii. Jacob ZIMMERMAN was born 20 Mar 1772 in Maxatawny, Berks, Pa.
Jacob married Maria Esther REED.
Abraham also married (3) Maria Eva GEHR on 26 Oct 1780. Maria was born about 1759 in
