In 1978 my greataunt (Linda Sieckman) compiled a family history. I recently found a copy and am trying to make sense of it. My gggrandfather was Friedrich Wilhelm Sieckmann b. May 20, 1826; d. Dec. 26, 1900. Born in Village of Diebrock, District of Herford, Prussia (Eickel at that time).also listed as: Diebrok Kreis Herford Treufsen Deutschland. His parents: ? Sieckmann & Elsabein von Sprickelmann.
In 1853-54, came to America. Became citizen 1859 in St. Louis, MO. Married 1867 & spent the rest of his life in Rosebud, MO.
He married Anna Marianna Hocamp (b. 1-17-1847 Laar Village, State of Hanover, Prussia--a.k.a.Westphalia; d.2-23-1936). Her parents were Herman Hocamp & Anna Flehr.
I don't think we have a match, but there's an interesting letter dated 1980 from Robt. J. Sieckman whose relatives came from Germany to Milwaukee in late 1800's. His ggfather Wilhelm, gfather Fred & guncle William became dairy farmers in Wisconsin.(Not related to my line, I believe). Unfortunately, there's no return address with this 20 year-old letter. Happy Hunting!nina gordon
