Thelmna, I am writing in response to your inquiry: Mary, My Grandmother's Father, Benjamin Franklin Sigman was married to Rosa Ellon Keever in 11/06/1892 they were married near Esbon, Jewel Co.,Kansas. Ben's Father was Joseph Sigman and he married Mary Elizebeth McGee on 02/12/1866; in Coshocton, Ohio does this fit in with your Joseph Sigman. Could they be Father and Son? If this fits some way please let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks, Thelma
My info:My great-grandfather, John Howard Finch, married Margaret Ann Sigman on Oct. 16, 1882,She was born Jan 1, 1867 (?), in Coshocton County, Ohio.
I have info from a picture taken of her mother, Mary Elizabeth McGee Sigman, wife of Joseph Sigman, her father, which puts her in Lebanon, Kansas.I estimate her age then at about 45, or about 1892.So it looks like these are the same people.
I also have a picture of Margaret Ann Sigman at about age 3, taken in Tingley, Iowa, which I assume was while they were on their way to Kansas, where my grandfather’s and mother’s family lived.(a cryptic note says that the Sigmans moved to Kansas when my grandmother – no relation to the Sigmans – was a girl;this would be sometime in the late 1880’s or early 1890’s).
That would make your grandfather, Ben Sigman, and my great-grandmother, Margaret Ann Signman, brother and sister.Do you have any more information on their family?
