Mr. Maynard,
I am the other woman that Jes Roundtree mentioned in the posting. Sylvia Sanders/Gilreath and I went to school together and never knew we had a family connection. Becky Dunagan and I found each other from a posting years ago on here. I knew Beckys sister from school also, just did not know we were connected in any way. Zachariah Sikes 1802-1879 married Winifred House 1812-1894. they had 8 children. one was John Sikes who married Prudence Elizabeth Jennings on April 5, 1849 in Clarke Co Ga Marriage record is in Book D Page 10.
John and Prudie had 9 children. One of those children was Winifred Anna Sikes married Richard Thomas Vincent on Oct 14, 1888 at the home of her father John Sikes Clarke Co. Ga., Anna and Tom Vincent had 5 children. One of their daughters was Nettie Marie Vincent she married Perry Dowe Sims, Sr. Nettie and Perry Sims had 7 children, their son Perry Dowe Sims Sr. and he was my father.
Back to Zachariah Sikes born March 25, 1802, Zachariah Sikes married Fannie Sikes in NC, they were first cousins. Zachariah had 7 brothers and sisters, that I have found.
if i remember correctly.I gave Jes, Sylvia and Becky photos I had of the old Sikes part of the family I had. I have some of the photos posted on Ancestry.com (just type in Perry Dowe Sims and you should find part of the line.
Do you have a site for you part of the family?
Please forward any info you care to share.
I lost Jes, and Sylvia's emails to a crash. Maybe they will see this post and contact me later.
