I have always been an amateur language studier and find that names provide an interesting item to learn a new word. Konieczny, I think means necessary.
You are right about the German association. I may have already said I had once in my posession the paybook from the German army of 1870 in my great grandfather's name.
You probably know the Wladislaw Sikorski was premier of Poland and Army top general during world war two, in exile. He was killed in 1943 at Gibraltar when he plane, (probably sabotaged) crashed. There is, or was a Sikorski museum in London It was his headquarters when he was boss in exile. He was making too much fuss about the Russian murders of the Polish army elite at Katyn. The murders were no doubt done by the Russians.
