Yes that all matches up with my people. What can I help you with, or should I say how can we help one another. My line goes back to Barzillia Silkwood Bn Abt 1763 perhaps in England. He was a resident of Berkeley and Frederick Virginia, and later Hopkins Ky. Married to Mary Heady, she was married to an Evans before she married Barzillia. I have more information on her lines Stillwells, Throckmortons, Motts. Anyway back to Silkwoods Obadiah Silkwood the son of Barzillia was my 5th GGfather He married a Sarah Snider. Her father,I found through research, was a Hessian German Mercenary sent over by the Brittish Government to fight the Rev. About 30,000 thousand of them were sent and 5,000 stayed in the U.S. after the war. Elizabeth Silkwood was Obadiah's daughter, she married Hezekiah Crosby in Greene Co, Ill 25/Mar/1828.They later moved to Calhoun Co Ill.I have more info and could go on and on, But you sound like you have a lot that you can share also. There is a history that I have found that states that Obadiahs father Barzillai Silkwood married a Mary Evans and that she was a widow of a Mr. Evans( I do not know his given name) and that three of the children Obadiah, Rebecca, and James were named Evans before being adopted by Silkwood. Mary (Evans) maiden name was Mary Heady, if there is a connection you will have answered a nagging question. If it is true that Obadiah was adopted, then I am not a Silkwood at all and need to start compiling information on the Evans line instead. Obadiah (Evans)? Silkwood and Sara (Sally) Snider are my sixth GGrandparents on my mothers side. Thanks again for your help, if I can be of any help to you please let me know.
