Sorry for the delay in responding but I was never notified of your posting. I do not claim to be an expert on the history of the Simon family or their origins. I reported only what was written down by my husband's MYERS family of Youngstown, OH who were friends and neighbors of the Simon's who traveled together from (?) to Western PA to OH. It was my hubby's grandmother, Susannah (Davies) Myers, wife of Cloyd Myers who wrote the notes and journals. She was born in 1887. Her son George Myers, now in his 90's, is still living. He is the one with the tomahawk and is the one who gave me all his notes and journals. Some items are merely notations that have no "source" information. I include this information only for what it is..possible truths. One of these "notations" says that George and Jacob Myers as well as Lawrence Simon were with the German-Swiss ancestors who arrived on the ship Princess Augusta in 1736. Information only:There is confusion about OH locations. The Myers family located first in Austintown, Trumbull Co OH (which became Mahoning Co around 1849) And the Pleasant Grove Cemetery was only called Pleasant Grove Cem for 2 years, after which it was (and is still) called Lake Park Cemetery. It is located on Midlothian Blvd. I do know there were Simon's and Myers living in Columbiana Co OH (right next to Mahoning Co) and that some of both families moved from here to Wood Co and some stayed locally. Let me know if you would like me to transcribe and share my notes re: the Simon's. No doubt some of our info overlaps.
