According to W.R. Cochrane, History of Antrim, N.H. (Manchester, NH: Mirror Steam Printing Press, 1880), p. 678, Benjamin Simonds of Antrim died in 1826 aged 65 which would put his birth at about 1761. I therefore believe he is the Benjamin Simonds who was born in Nottingham West Township, later Hudson, Hillsboro Co., New Hampshire, 16 November 1761, son of Daniel and Martha Simonds (see Benjamin Simonds at Familysearch.org, International Genealogical Index, Source: New Hampshire Registrar of Vital Statistics, Index to births, early to 1900, call #: 1001042).
Who this Daniel Simonds was is not completely certain. He and his wife Martha had several other children born or baptized in Nottingham West Township including 1. Daniel Simonds who was born 20 May 1753 and married at Dublin, NH, 8 April 1782, Bethia Russell of Wilton. 2. Martha Simonds, bpt. 29 Feb. 1756. and 3. Joseph Simonds, bpt. 6 Nov. 1757 (See Henry Onslow Smith, “Early Church Records of Nottingham, Mass., Now Hudson, N.H,” New England Historical and Genealogical Register 91 (1937): 257; and Levi W. Leonard, History of Dublin, N.H., [Dublin: Published by the Town of Dublin, 1920], 843).
According to a notice in the Boston Evening Transcript, 5 Jan. 1921, no. 8565, this Daniel Simonds is Daniel4 Simonds who was born at Woburn, Middlesex County, Mass., 23 January 1721/2, son of Daniel3 Simonds (Benjamin2, William1), born at Woburn, Middlesex County, Mass., 21 February 1689/90 and married about 1718, Mrs. Susannah (Wilson) Richardson Snow, born 11 March 1679, daughter of Lieut. John2 Wilson (John1) of Woburn and Billerica (See John Adams Vinton, The Richardson memorial [Portland, Maine: Brown Thurston & Co., 1876], 1: 202, no. 1587). Daniel3 Simonds removed to Billerica where he died about 1732. His estate was probated in Middlesex County in 1732. There are guardianship records for his son Daniel4, dated 1739 (Middlesex County Probate File 20401), and his son Joseph4, dated 1741 (Middlesex County Probate File 20402).
