I was at the cemetery seaching for some (other) graves, when I came across these monuments. I copied the info and took photos because I thought it might tie into my Beveridge (now I'm not so sure). In any event, I thought it was too much good info to go to waste, so I am posting the info. These graves are at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson, NJ. It is a local visit for me, so I stop in when I have little bits of time. I'd be returning to the cemetery office in the next week or two, so I'll try to pull the lot card for the sites as well.
In the meanwhile, here is what I've copied (/ means new line):
On the front of the monument (facing the cemetery road) is: Thomas Beveridge/Native of Airdrie Scotland/died/January 13, 1887/in the 69th year of his age//Helen Hastie/wife of/Thomas Beveridge/Died October 21st, 1890/Aged 73 years//
left face of monument:Alice D. Simonton/wife of John D. Beveridge/1867-1897
There are small stones set in front of the lg. monument, with names engraved only on the top of each stone. Front left of the monument is James. Front & to the right is Father and then Mother. Behind these two (& further back than the main marker) is a similar headstone with Margrethe (yes, that is correct spelling). The front of that stone has "Beveridge"/ "1870-1963". To the right of this is a corner stone marker (end of the Beveridge plot, I believe), and then a stone with "Grandma" and to the right of that is one with "Nettie/and/Lillie". I believe these graves belong with the Simonton plot, immediately to the right of Beveridge.
Here are the rest of the Simontons (related by marriage via John D Beveridge):
