Was it a website? We're distant cousins through the same William, Andrew and George Simonton's I believe. But the confusing thing is I have confirmed dates linking these brothers to a much earlier time. Familysearch.com, and Ancestry.com have helped a lot. The brother's were all born in the 1670's, and came to America in 1700, 18 years before your information. Could there be different William's, Andrew's, and George's? These folk were a little too conservative with their names, don't you think?
Andrew Simonton born in 1671 is our main link. He married Annie Douglass Simonton between 1700-1701 just after they arrived. They were childhood friends, and Annie had a brother named Archibald. Andrew and Annie had a son named Andrew around 1710 (my branch), and a son named James between 1711-1715 (your branch). They also had a Thomas, a Walter, and a daughter named Anne between 1701-1709. I was told they had 5 children altogether. Anne married a Thomas Jordan from Kittery, Me on December 23, 1736. They had a daughter named Mary.
I hope the websites I have been laboriously going over are not inaccurate. It all seems to fit, so I'm a bit alarmed at the 1718 crossing. Please help me.
